the Man of the year
Time magazine, for those of you who don't know, is a weekly magazine focused on global current affairs. Every year the editing staff picks a man of the year. I think they say person of the year now, but seriously, most of the women chosen have been the man. This year, the person of the year was Vladimir Putin, the two-term president of Russia. Mr. Putin is the essence of the man. He is cold, reserved, and powerful. Unlike most leaders of neo-Communist countries, Putin retains an institutional blandness. He has no particular trademark, but in unmistakable in all his charactatures. I applaud time magazines choice of Mr. Putin, certainly a step up from last years ambigous "you". The runners up in the contest are interesting as well. Al Gore? what has he done this year? He won an oscar and a nobel prize, but other then that.... J.K Rowling, i geuss she sold a lot of books, but seriously, what has she actually done for the world today, except out Dumbledore. Do not underestimate the significance of an outed Dumbledore. Hu Jintao. If Putin and Jintao got into a fight, who would win? I wonder........ Lastly Gen. David Petraeus, whiner exstrodinare.
