Thoughts on Emo/Indie/Alternative/Techno/Fringe i.e, not classic rock

Let me start by saying, I love classic rock. Everything about it, except for a few choice songs which for the sake of rebellion I reject (namely, Stairway to Heaven. My first touch with no classic stuff was, as with all things baggerboy, late. What can I say? Late bloomer. Speaking of late blooming, the slow movement would really benefit a lot of the other people feeling behind, its a great revolution combining liberal thought with reactionary technology. Seriously consider it. Changed my life a bit. Anyway, so I bloomed late, and at the tender age of 12 I heard Color of Mudd on a mix tape my dad made me. This was not life changing. My first thought was, whiny much?
As I got older, developed more counterculture longings, I decided that I would fight then man. I would listen to the real music about real life written by real people. As you probably already guessed, I'm talking about Green Day. This revolutionary band paved the road of my Indie phase. In retrospect, i was not as awesome as i felt playing those pirated songs. This was back when there was some rebellion in pirating. I was a pirate. YEAH!
Then of course, everyone had to go and like Green Day. Actually, everyone already liked Green Day, it just took me a few weeks to realize, oh that's not different. I do still treasure I fought the law and the law one, even though yes i know its a clash cover, but really, the clash wears way to much studded leather. Best version by far is the grateful dead. About the dead, any one who feels its necessary to own either a joint of the teddy bears is just wrong. Wrong. So moving back in time from Green Day to the Dead and then to early Marijuana Jazz. Louis Armstrong looks like Bob Marley minus the dreads when he preforms. Bob Marley; he is big with me know. I think all this may be the influence of stoners around me. Pot, good for music bad for the throats. What else is good for music? LSD. Later Beatles stuff is great. George Harrison went on to do great things with music as did Paul. Lennon, he got a little to political for me and seriously, Ono broke up the band and that's like killing Caesar. Et tu Yoko? Latins a lot like Italian which has a lot to do with French. French singes. Piaf, je t'aime. I do regret nothing. Kinda like Bob Dylan's like a Rolling Stone. Bob is God. Weird AL did do a great Dante though. Weird Al, lost me when he parodied the Piano man great song. Reminds me of those older days when smoking was healthy and alcoholism was a social obligation not a medical condition. Fast forward 100 years and you have AVA. Interesting in person. Meg and Dia opened for them in Worcester, and that is counter culture for ya. They might just be bad, but whatever. I am alone in my fandom, score. I leave you with this thought, that as the DKM's say, I'll probably die cold and alone, but kiss me I'm shitfaced. Thanks for your time and if you made it this far, props to ya.
